Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about the M50 toll system.
You can pay the M50 toll online at eflow.ie, by phone (0818 50 10 50 in Ireland or +353 1 461 0122 internationally), or at any Payzone outlet across Ireland. If you have a tag or video account, payment is automatic. Unregistered users must pay by 8pm the day after travel.
If you don't pay by 8pm the day after your journey, a Standard Toll Request will be issued adding a penalty to the original toll amount. If this remains unpaid after 14 days, further penalties apply. After 72 days, the debt may be referred for legal enforcement.
Yes, all motorcycles are exempt from the M50 toll. If you receive a charge for a motorcycle, contact eFlow to have it removed. Other exempt vehicles include emergency service vehicles, defence forces vehicles, and vehicles modified for disabled use.
Visit eflow.ie and click on 'Register' to create an account. You will need your vehicle registration number, contact details, and payment card information. You can choose between a tag account (requires a tag to be fitted to your windscreen) or a video account (no tag required).
As of January 2026, rates for standard cars are approximately 2.50 Euro for tag account holders, 3.10 Euro for video account holders, and 3.80 Euro for unregistered users. Rates vary by vehicle type. Always check eflow.ie for the most current rates.
This depends on your rental agreement. Some rental companies include tolls, others offer optional toll packages, and some make the customer responsible. Check your rental agreement before leaving the desk. If you're responsible, pay by 8pm the following day to avoid administration fees from the rental company.
The toll point is located between Junction 6 (N3 Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (N4 Lucan) on the M50 motorway. This is a barrier-free toll point with overhead cameras - you drive straight through without stopping.
Yes, if you believe a charge has been incorrectly applied, contact eFlow customer service. Common reasons for disputes include incorrect registration capture, stolen vehicle at time of journey, or valid exemption not recognised. Have your evidence ready when you contact them.
